Brazil-Based HRTech Giant Gupy Invests $490K in AI Startup Bondy to Expand Conversational HR Solutions

The strategic investment will integrate Bondy’s AI agents into Gupy’s HR platform, bringing recruitment and employee services to messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Slack, and Microsoft Teams.

Brazilian HR technology company Gupy has made a strategic investment of BRL 2.5 million (approximately $460,000) in conversational AI startup Bondy to accelerate the adoption of AI-powered HR services across messaging platforms.

The investment gives Gupy a strategic stake in Bondy, while allowing the startup to continue operating independently.

Founded to develop conversational AI agents, Bondy enables companies to automate recruitment, onboarding, and employee support through platforms including WhatsApp, Slack, and Microsoft Teams.

Bringing AI to HR Workflows

The partnership will integrate Bondy’s conversational AI technology into Gupy’s HR ecosystem, which serves more than 4,000 companies and 40 million candidates.

The collaboration aims to simplify HR processes by allowing candidates and employees to complete tasks directly within messaging applications instead of navigating multiple enterprise systems.

“The industry is entering a new era driven by artificial intelligence,” said Mariana Dias, Co-Founder and CEO of Gupy.

“Our goal is to lead this transformation by delivering better business outcomes while creating highly personalized experiences for candidates and employees.”

Improving Recruitment and Employee Support

According to the companies, the technology has already produced measurable results among joint customers.

Healthcare retailer RD Saúde reported a 30% increase in candidate conversion rates between recruitment stages after implementing the platform.

Beyond hiring, organizations such as Minerva are using Bondy’s AI agents to automate responses to employee questions related to payroll, benefits, vacation policies, and onboarding through familiar messaging platforms.

Maintaining Independent Innovation

Rather than pursuing a full acquisition, Gupy chose a strategic investment model that allows Bondy to retain its operational independence and continue developing its AI products at startup speed.

The companies plan to expand the integration across Gupy’s product portfolio, creating a unified conversational interface for recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee services.

Venezuelan FinTech Startup Fina Raises $1M to Expand Cloud Platform and Develop AI-Powered Financial Products for Merchants

The oversubscribed Seed round will help Fina expand its cloud management platform and build financial services for small Venezuelan merchants.

Venezuelan FinTech startup Fina has raised $1 million in an oversubscribed Seed round to expand its business management platform and accelerate the development of credit and artificial intelligence products.

SquareOne Capital and Tomorrow Capital co-led the round, with participation from Norte Ventures, Platanus and Neer Venture Partners. The financing adds to signs of growing international interest in technology companies serving Venezuela’s small and medium-sized businesses.

Investors From Four Countries Back Fina

The round brought together institutional and angel investors from the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil and Chile.

US-based SquareOne Capital and UK-based Tomorrow Capital led the financing. Brazil’s Norte Ventures, Chile’s Platanus and US-based Neer Venture Partners also participated.

The angel investors included Marcelo Lombardo of Omie, Jorge Ulloa of Bold, Rodrigo Tognini of Conta Simples, Gabriel Monroy of Colektia and Adriel Araujo of Hackmetrix, bringing experience from across Latin America’s FinTech sector.

Fina co-founder and CEO Enrique Rivas said the oversubscription suggests investors are becoming more willing to deploy capital in Venezuela. He added that the company views commerce as an important engine for the country’s economy.

Software Built for Venezuelan Merchants

Founded in 2024 by Rivas, Diego Aponte, Alejandro Fariña and Sebastián Sánchez, Fina offers a cloud-based management platform for small businesses.

The system brings inventory, sales, accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliation and profitability reporting into one platform. It supports transactions and financial reporting in both bolivars and US dollars, reflecting Venezuela’s dual-currency commercial environment.

Fina charges $35 per month, converted at the official exchange rate set by the Central Bank of Venezuela. The platform is also designed to operate in low-connectivity environments and support businesses with small teams.

Its customers include hardware stores, auto parts shops, technology retailers, restaurants, bodegas and distributors, many of which previously relied on spreadsheets or handwritten records.

Fina now serves more than 5,000 active merchants and reports annual recurring revenue approaching $2 million. Before the latest Seed round, the company had secured previous investments of $100,000 and $350,000.

Credit and AI Drive the Next Phase

Over the next six months, Fina plans to concentrate on financial products and AI-based services.

A central part of that strategy is its recently launched credit vertical for small businesses, which the company says is doubling in size month over month. A pilot lending programme conducted with a Venezuelan bank recorded almost no defaults, supporting Fina’s view that formal, digitised merchants represent a viable lending market.

Before founding Fina, Rivas and Aponte launched Caracas Ron, a delivery ecommerce company that expanded during the pandemic. Their new venture is now moving beyond administrative software toward becoming a broader financial infrastructure provider for merchants.

The round follows Cashea’s $100 million raise earlier this year and comes as payments in Venezuela have become almost entirely digital. Fina plans to build on those shifts before pursuing wider expansion across Latin America.

Brazilian FinTech Startup Decade Raises $85M to Expand AI-Powered Wealth Management Platform

The round, described as the largest seed investment in Latin America, will support Decade’s AI-powered platform for making sophisticated wealth management services accessible to a broader market.

Published

on

Brazilian AI fintech Decade, co-founded by former Nubank CTO Vitor Olivier, has raised US$85 million in a seed funding round to develop an AI-powered wealth management platform.

The round was co-led by Benchmark, GreenOaks, and Diffusion, with participation from Brazilian investors Norte Ventures and Atlantico. The company’s valuation following the investment was not disclosed.

The financing is described as the largest seed funding round in Latin American history, giving Decade significant capital to develop a technology-driven alternative to traditional wealth management services.

Bringing Family Office Services to More Investors

Decade aims to make sophisticated financial planning and investment management capabilities traditionally associated with multi-family offices available to a broader group of investors.

The company plans to combine artificial intelligence with human financial expertise to help users understand their financial position, manage investments, identify risks, and make better long-term financial decisions.

Vitor Olivier, Co-Founder and CEO of Decade, sees an opportunity to bring the type of technological transformation to wealth management that digital banking brought to traditional financial services.

Building an AI-Powered Financial Hub

Decade connects with users’ financial accounts through Brazil’s Open Finance infrastructure, allowing its platform to create a consolidated view of their assets, liabilities, investments, and financial activity.

Its AI technology can continuously analyse factors including spending patterns, portfolio allocation, wealth concentration, and financial risk.

Users can also perform financial simulations, generate projections, and ask complex questions about their finances based on their individual financial information.

Decade intends to operate as an independent layer between customers and financial institutions, allowing the platform to provide recommendations without being tied to a specific bank or investment provider.

Integrating With Brazil’s Investment Ecosystem

The startup has already established integrations with major Brazilian financial platforms including BTG Pactual and XP Investimentos, initially allowing customers to visualise financial information held across different institutions.

Decade plans to eventually enable users to execute financial transactions directly through its platform as its product and regulatory capabilities expand.

The service is expected to operate under a subscription model costing approximately R$200 per month, providing access to the platform, its AI-powered financial tools, and support from human consultants.

Founded by Former Nubank Leaders

Decade was co-founded by Vitor Olivier and Felipe Meneses, who serves as the company’s Head of AI.

The idea emerged from discussions between the founders while they were working at Nubank, where Olivier previously served as Chief Technology Officer.

Following Olivier’s departure from Nubank, the founders began developing Decade and building its team, which has grown to approximately 26 professionals.

The company currently operates under an investment consulting licence from Brazil’s Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) and is pursuing an additional asset management licence that would allow it to expand its financial services.

Preparing for Wider Expansion

Decade is currently operating in beta and is managing several billion reais in assets for a limited group of clients while refining its platform and customer experience.

The company has opened a waitlist for prospective users but is prioritising product development before accelerating customer acquisition.

With $85 million in seed capital, Decade plans to establish an AI-native wealth management platform capable of combining automated financial intelligence with human expertise.

Starting in Brazil, the company ultimately sees an opportunity to take its model into additional international markets as it seeks to broaden access to sophisticated financial planning and wealth management services.

Funding to Build Enterprise AI Infrastructure

Strattum will use the new funding to validate its platform, accelerate product development, and prepare for international expansion.

The company aims to build the data infrastructure that enables enterprises to deploy artificial intelligence more effectively by organizing fragmented corporate data into a unified AI-ready environment.

Building a “Corporate AI Brain”

Founded by industry veterans, Strattum develops an AI data platform designed to become the “corporate brain” for large organizations.

Rather than building its own AI models, the platform creates a centralized context layer that organizes enterprise data and provides AI applications with accurate, structured, and secure information.

The company says its solution helps organizations accelerate AI adoption while improving data governance, reducing implementation costs, and maintaining data sovereignty.

Serving Large Enterprises

Strattum targets large organizations across industries including retail, financial services, technology, and the broader industrial sector, where fragmented data remains one of the biggest barriers to enterprise AI adoption.

Its platform combines recurring subscription revenue with usage-based pricing for enterprise data processing, while dedicated implementation engineers help customers integrate the technology into their existing systems.

Preparing for Global Expansion

Although initially focused on Brazil, Strattum has already begun testing its platform in international markets.

The company plans to use the current funding to strengthen its domestic presence before pursuing a future funding round to accelerate global expansion and establish itself as an international enterprise AI infrastructure provider.
