Swedish Micromobility Startup Voi Technology Secures €150M Credit Facility to Refinance Outstanding Debt and Expand Electric Vehicle Fleet Across Europe
The financing agreement with Danske Bank, Swedbank and DNB Sweden will allow Voi to redeem outstanding bonds and support its continued expansion across European markets.
The Stockholm-headquartered company signed the financing agreement with Danske Bank, Swedbank and DNB Sweden, marking a shift toward more flexible bank financing as it continues scaling its operations across Europe. Voi plans to use the facility to redeem all outstanding bonds, refinance its existing undrawn credit line and finance further fleet expansion.
The agreement follows a period of revenue growth and improved financial performance, with the company reporting a 47% year-on-year increase in second-quarter revenue in 2026.
Voi Secures €150M Revolving Credit Facility
The new financing arrangement provides Voi with access to a revolving credit facility that allows the company to draw funds as needed, subject to the agreement’s terms. The facility replaces its previous debt financing arrangements, including outstanding bonds and an existing credit line, while providing additional resources to support the company’s operational and capital requirements.
Mathias Hermansson, CFO and Deputy CEO of Voi, said the agreement follows several years of strong cash flow generation and will provide more flexible and cost-efficient financing as the company expands. He also acknowledged the continued support of Danske Bank and Swedbank while welcoming DNB Sweden as a new banking partner.
The agreement represents another stage in Voi’s financing strategy as the company increasingly relies on debt instruments to support its operations and capital requirements. By consolidating existing financing arrangements into a larger revolving credit facility, Voi aims to improve its financial flexibility while continuing to expand its shared electric mobility services across European markets.
Voi Plans to Redeem Outstanding Bonds
As part of the refinancing, Voi has issued a conditional notice of early redemption for all outstanding bonds under ISIN SE0023134952, issued under terms dated October 17, 2024. The redemption is conditional on the company satisfying customary requirements for the first drawdown under the new credit facility, with completion expected on October 19, 2026, if those conditions are met.
Bondholders will receive 103.375% of each bond’s nominal value, plus accrued interest, with payments made to holders registered as of October 12, 2026. The company also expects the bonds to be delisted from Nasdaq Stockholm’s corporate bond list around the redemption date, following the completion of the refinancing process.
The transaction follows Voi’s previous debt financing activities, including €50 million in senior secured bonds issued in October 2024, a €40 million tap issue in October 2025 and a €25 million revolving credit facility secured in December 2025. The new arrangement will replace these financing structures as Voi moves toward a consolidated bank-backed credit facility.
Revenue Climbs 47% in Q2 2026
The financing announcement follows Voi’s second-quarter financial results, which showed continued revenue growth and improved profitability metrics. During Q2 2026, Voi reported net revenue of €68.8 million, representing a 47% increase compared with the same period a year earlier, while its trailing twelve-month revenue exceeded €200 million for the first time.
Adjusted EBITDA nearly doubled to €19.7 million, representing a margin of 28.6%. The company also reported that its net leverage ratio declined to 1.76x from 2.41x at the end of the previous quarter, despite continued investment in fleet expansion.
These results provide the financial context for Voi’s transition toward larger bank-backed credit facilities. The combination of revenue growth, improved adjusted operating profitability and lower leverage supports the company’s strategy of refinancing existing debt while maintaining investment in its European operations.
Expanding Shared Electric Mobility Across Europe
Founded in Stockholm in 2018, Voi operates shared electric scooters and e-bikes in partnership with municipalities across Europe. The company currently manages more than 200,000 vehicles across over 130 towns and cities in 13 countries, providing shared mobility services designed for short-distance urban transportation.
Voi employs approximately 1,000 people and reports more than 500 million rides since its launch, with over four million active users annually. Its operations are built around partnerships with local authorities, enabling the company to manage vehicle deployment and shared mobility services across different European markets.
Co-founder and CEO Fredrik Hjelm said the financing follows another record quarter and reflects growing confidence among financial institutions in the micromobility sector. He added that Voi will continue expanding its fleet and strengthening partnerships with European cities, using the new financing arrangement to support further operational growth.
Voi Shifts From Equity Funding to Bank Financing
Since its establishment, Voi has raised more than €500 million across 14 financing rounds, including equity investments, debt financing and grant funding. Its earlier fundraising included a €2.5 million Seed round in August 2018, a €77 million Series B in November 2019 and a €132 million Series C in December 2020.
The company subsequently secured €101.36 million in Series D financing in December 2021, when it reached unicorn status. In recent years, Voi has increasingly turned to debt capital markets to finance its operations and vehicle fleet, reflecting a shift in its approach to managing capital requirements as the business expands.
The new €150 million facility consolidates its existing debt arrangements while providing additional financing flexibility. By replacing outstanding bonds and its previous revolving credit line, the company aims to establish a more streamlined financing structure that can support its ongoing fleet investments and operational needs.
Following the planned bond redemption, Voi intends to continue publishing quarterly financial updates alongside sustainability disclosures under the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. The company will use the new financing structure to support its European operations and future fleet expansion while maintaining regular reporting to stakeholders.
